DescriptionThe whole story▼
The Accossato Ready To Brake 15x18 is a radial brake master cylinder sized for naked and motard machines, pairing a 15 mm piston with a fixed 18 mm lever pivot distance that Accossato rates for track use and also recommends for everyday street riding. Like the rest of the Ready To Brake range the passive stroke of the braking process is cut down across the board without any adjustment needed, and an integrated micro-switch takes care of the brake light function inside the shark-shaped body. The long folding lever, fitted with a relieving eyelet, is offered in seven colours.
Key Features
- 15 mm piston diameter, suggested for naked and motard bikes
- Fixed 18 mm lever pivot distance, for track use and also recommended on the road
- Folding lever, long version, with relieving eyelet (RST), available in seven colours
- Integrated micro-switch built into the shark-shaped body for the brake light
- Offset fixing riser with a quick-release jumper for faster servicing
- CNC-machined aluminium, fully made in Italy
- Stainless steel mounting screws and a zinc-plated bleed valve
- Seals manufactured from Formula 1 compound material
Construction and Material Quality
This master cylinder is CNC machined from aluminium and assembled entirely in Italy, using the same hardware specification across the Ready To Brake line: stainless steel mounting screws, a zinc-plated bleed valve and seals made from Formula 1 compound that continue to seal through repeated heat cycles and fluid contact. The clamp is offset to reduce bending of the unit while the brake is applied hard, and the quick-release jumper built into the riser lets the master cylinder be lifted off the bar for servicing without disturbing the hose. Every internal passage is shaped to keep the lever's passive travel as short as practical, which is the idea behind the Ready To Brake name.
Piston Diameter and Fixed Lever Pivot Explained
Unlike the PRS versions in the Accossato range, the 15x18 uses one fixed pivot distance rather than a rider-adjustable one, which keeps the lever simpler and a little lighter for applications where a single, consistent setting is all that is needed. The 15 mm piston diameter sits between the smaller 14 mm size aimed at scooters and the larger bores used on full-size sport machines, and Accossato suggests it specifically for naked and motard bikes where the brake has to work well both on tight, technical roads and on the odd trackday. The 18 mm pivot distance is described as suited to track use and is also recommended for street riding, giving a lever feel that favours a direct, positive bite over an especially light touch.
Fitment and Compatibility
This master cylinder is not matched to specific models; it ships as a universal fit for naked and motard machines running a 15 mm radial system. Riders should confirm three things before buying: a 22 mm handlebar clamp, a brake system engineered around a 15 mm piston, and callipers plus discs already sized for that bore.
Road Approval
This master cylinder is not supplied with German road-approval documentation; it is intended for track and competition use.
Scope of Delivery
