DescriptionThe whole story▼
MV Agusta's F3 675 is a compact three-cylinder supersport, and like most bikes of its kind it has a sporty seat height that leaves shorter riders on their toes at a standstill. When only one foot reaches the ground, the front brake becomes the tool that holds the bike still, and it has to be worked precisely while the rest of the body is busy balancing. The Accossato EDF035 replaces the F3 675's brake lever for the 2013 to 2020 model years. It is machined from aluminium, anodised and adjustable in its distance to the grip.
Key Features
- Front brake lever for the MV Agusta F3 675, 2013 to 2020
- Mounts on the original master cylinder
- Reach adjustable to bring the blade under the fingers
- Short blade in blue, gold, green, orange and silver
- Standard length approximately 138 mm; long blade in four colours
- CNC-machined aluminium with an anodised finish and black hub
- Fixed one-piece blade
Construction and Material Quality
Shaped by CNC machining and finished by anodising, the EDF035 is made in two tones: a black hub, which contains the pivot and the reach adjustment, and a blade in black, blue, red, orange, gold, silver or green. Anodising builds the colour into a layer of the aluminium itself, so it cannot peel away like a lacquer. The lever is rigid, a fixed one-piece design without a hinge, and it gives the same firm response every time the F3 675 is brought to a halt.
Holding the Bike at a Standstill
Stopping at a junction on a tall bike usually works like this: the right hand keeps the front brake on, the left foot finds the ground, and the right foot stays on the peg or the rear brake pedal. On a slope, the front brake is often the only thing keeping the F3 675 from rolling, and the hand has to hold it steadily while you balance. If the lever sits far from the grip, you end up clutching throttle and brake with a half-open hand, which is tiring and makes the bike feel unsteady. Setting the EDF035 closer brings the blade under your fingers with the hand in a natural grip, so the brake can be held with steady, moderate pressure. When you pull away, the lever is released gradually as the clutch bites. Riders who hold the brake with two fingers while the other two stay on the throttle will find the short blade suits that grip. Practise on a gentle slope before you meet a steep one.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists the EDF035 for the F3 675 from 2013 to 2020, and it goes on the bike's original master cylinder. Its clutch counterpart, the ESM048, is listed for the F3 675 from 2012 to 2020, a year earlier at the start, so a 2012 F3 675 finds only the clutch lever on the list.
Road Approval
There is no German ABE documented for the EDF035, so it is supplied for track use.
