Sprint Filter P08 Air Filter for Road & Track – Voge Valico 800 DSX Rally (2025–2026) PM188S

Sprint Filter builds four elements around this airbox, and the Valico 800 DSX Rally appears on two of the four fitment lists. The racing weave is catalogued for nine machines and this is not one; the fine dust element for two, and it is not one of those either. What a fitment list leaves out says as much as what it carries, and for this motorcycle it narrows the whole question to a pair of answers. The PM188S is the default half of that pair.

Reading a fitment list backwards

An omission is not a verdict on the motorcycle. Sprint Filter draws its lists per medium, and the racing weave, which costs roughly two and a half times what this element does, is drawn around machines that include no Voge at all. The effect for an owner of the Rally is a shorter menu and a clearer decision: this element, or the extreme-conditions one. Both share the housing, both are dry, both are washed rather than replaced. What separates them is a rating, a flow figure, and the air the bike spends its year in.

What eighty microns is for

Sprint Filter files this medium under road and track use, and the figures explain why. Against four-layer oiled cotton measured at 76.42 per cent, the woven P08 retains 93.13 per cent of 100-micron particles while flowing more than anything below it in the range. Finer materials retain more and flow less, and that relationship never reverses — which is why the range is a description and not a ladder. The limit belongs here too: an element in a standard airbox will not make a Valico 800 DSX Rally noticeably faster. It gives a low intake resistance that holds steady between services, and a part that is serviced rather than reordered.

Care and cleaning

Regeneration is a workshop-floor job. Compressed air, aimed at the clean face and blown outward, lifts a season's load off the weave. Where road film has made the dirt sticky, warm water and a mild washing-up liquid do the rest, rinsed until nothing more comes away. Drying is passive and unhurried, and heat guns, radiators and flames are what actually kill these elements, not dust. The PM188S returns to the airbox dry, with no oil and no coating.
