DescriptionThe whole story▼
Elastic spacer 42/88/2, Öhlins part number 25601-04. Öhlins gives every washer and spacer its own part number because its length or thickness is part of the internal geometry.

Function
The published figures are 42 mm, 88 mm, 2 mm. Measure the old part against them before ordering. Spacers set the internal geometry of the unit, which means their length is a specification and not a filler. Circlips hold axial position under load; a sprung one lets the assembly walk. Öhlins gives each length its own number because the assembly depends on it.
Original Öhlins Part
Parts remain available years after a unit leaves the current price list, which is unusual in this trade. The part number is the contract: it defines material, dimension and finish together. Tell us the damper's model designation and year and we will match the number for you. If the unit is already apart, compare the published dimensions with the part in your hand.
Identifying the Right Part
Öhlins identifies this position by the number 25601-04 in the exploded view for the unit it belongs to. Check dimension a 42 mm, dimension b 88 mm, dimension c 2 mm against what you have removed; a close size is not the same part. Thread size and length identify the fastener; substituting a hardware-store equivalent is not sensible in a pressurised damper. Substituting a spacer changes the internal geometry, not just the fit.
Fitting and Setup Service
A damper rebuild is workshop work: it needs the unit dismantled, the shim stack rebuilt in the correct order and the gas charge reset. We are an authorised Öhlins service centre and do exactly that in house — send us the unit or ask us to fit the part with your order.
