DescriptionThe whole story▼
Forged from Italian racing heritage and precision-machined to exacting tolerances, the LighTech FTRDU016/W rearset system brings an authentic GP-shift configuration to the Ducati Panigale 959. Designed exclusively for reverse shift pattern use, this is the upgrade for riders who demand race-bred control on track days and circuit work alike.
Key Features
- CNC-machined from a single billet of Ergal 7075-T6 aluminium for exceptional rigidity and minimal weight.
- Up to three ball bearings per lever for precise, play-free gear and brake lever action even under extreme load.
- Multiple footpeg position adjustments available — height and fore-aft offset — letting you dial in your riding position with race-level accuracy.
- Available with either rigid or folding footpegs to suit your track or road-legal requirements.
- All components are available individually as spare parts, protecting your long-term investment.
- Supplied with all necessary mounting hardware — ready to fit straight from the box.
Design, Finish and Heritage
LighTech has built its reputation supplying rearset systems to professional racing teams across Europe, and the FTRDU016/W carries that lineage directly. The billet Ergal 7075-T6 construction — the same high-tensile aluminium alloy favoured in aerospace applications — is CNC-machined from a single solid block, leaving no weak points or assembly gaps. The result is a component that looks as purposeful as it performs: clean machined surfaces, close-tolerance fits, and the kind of tactile quality you notice the moment you put your boot on the peg.
The ball-bearing pivot system is a hallmark of LighTech engineering. Where conventional rearsets rely on simple bushings that wear and develop slop over time, every shift and brake lever pivot on the FTRDU016/W runs on dedicated ball bearings — up to three per lever — ensuring the shift feel remains crisp and consistent across thousands of kilometres of hard use.
GP-Shift: For Riders Who Mean It
The FTRDU016/W is configured exclusively for GP-shift (reverse shift pattern), where first gear is selected by pushing the lever upward and higher gears are selected downward. This is the standard pattern used in MotoGP and most professional circuit racing, as it keeps the shifting foot in a natural position under hard braking into corners. If you run your Panigale 959 on track and want your gearchange to feel like the professionals', this rearset system is the correct and complete solution.
Important: this rearset system is designed solely for GP-shift use and is not compatible with the standard shift pattern. Please confirm your intended shift configuration before ordering.
