DescriptionThe whole story▼
Developed in the crucible of international road racing and refined across successive seasons of British Superbike and the Isle of Man TT, the K-Tech DDS Pro shock absorber for the Kawasaki ZX-10R/RR (2016–2020) represents the pinnacle of CNC-machined suspension engineering. Every component is manufactured to race-team tolerances, delivering a level of adjustability and feedback that transforms the ZX-10R chassis whether you are chasing lap times on circuit or demanding precision on the road.
Key Features
- Five-way adjustability covering compression, rebound, BPV, hydraulic preload and length — a complete platform for chassis fine-tuning without compromise.
- 16-click ByPass Valve (BPV) adjustment targets low-shaft-speed damping specifically, sharpening tyre feedback and maximising contact-patch grip through slow corners and undulating surfaces.
- 32-click compression and 32-click rebound circuits provide granular, repeatable tuning across the full damping range.
- Hydraulic spring preload adjustment allows fast, tool-free ride-height and sag changes between sessions or rider configurations.
- CNC-machined aluminium body and components deliver the structural rigidity and dimensional consistency demanded by professional race teams.
- DDS (Dual Damping System) architecture includes integrated potentiometer mounting points for data-acquisition systems, making it fully compatible with modern telemetry setups.
- Wide spring-rate selection across the 55-155 series ensures the unit can be optimised for every rider weight and track character.
Race-Proven Construction
The DDS Pro carries the same internal architecture trusted by teams competing at the highest levels of British Superbike and the Isle of Man TT. The 35 mm body diameter houses a 12 mm shaft ground to exacting tolerances, resisting flex and side-load deflection even under the extreme forces generated by a ZX-10R at full commitment. The eye-type upper and lower mounts are machined rather than cast, maintaining consistent geometry through repeated heat cycles that would fatigue lesser materials.
K-Tech's ByPass Valve technology sets the DDS Pro apart from conventional twin-tube or monotube designs. By independently controlling the damping character at low shaft speeds — the regime that governs chassis platform stability, corner entry confidence and tyre warm-up — the BPV gives the rider or technician a tool that directly translates to improved lap times and reduced tyre degradation.
Track and Road Versatility
The length-adjustment facility lets you dial in precise ride height and geometry to suit your preferred front-to-rear weight balance, the specific circuit layout or road conditions. Recommended baseline settings — 12 clicks compression, 12 clicks rebound, 12 mm preload, 8 clicks BPV — give a well-sorted starting point from which systematic refinement is straightforward. The 5 mm RCU adjustment range covers the geometry correction needed when fitting to standard or modified linkage configurations.
Fitment & Compatibility
This unit is engineered specifically for the following models:
- Kawasaki ZX-10R — 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020
- Kawasaki ZX-10RR — 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020
Upper mount: eye type, 39 mm wide, 10 mm bolt diameter. Lower mount: eye type, 30 mm wide, 10 mm bolt diameter. Fitment by an authorised K-Tech Service Centre is strongly recommended; installation requires specialist tools and techniques to ensure safety and optimum performance.
