DescriptionThe whole story▼

The JP ACCGP TR039 fits the Speed Twin 1200, shortening its electronic throttle's rotation to 60 degrees. Triumph's classic roadster relies on a torquey parallel twin rather than outright revs, and less rotation between closed and open throttle changes how quickly that torque can be called on without touching the engine's mapping.

Key Features

  • Triumph Speed Twin 1200 (2025–2026)
  • GP Series ride-by-wire quick throttle with a sixty degree rotation angle
  • Progressive return spring, preload adjustable externally in three positions
  • CNC-machined from solid Ergal 7075
  • Plug-and-play on the motorcycle's own connector
  • Standard throttle assembly refits at any time

A Classic Shape, a Modern Engine

The Speed Twin's styling leans on Triumph's Bonneville heritage, but the parallel twin underneath delivers torque low in the revs rather than relying on a long run to the redline. A throttle that opens quickly suits an engine that is already generous without needing much wrist movement to access.

Setting the Spring to Taste

Three external preload settings on the return spring let the resistance at the start of the throttle's travel be adjusted without opening the unit. A firmer setting adds a bit more deliberate feel to small throttle openings; a softer one keeps the pull light throughout.

The Feel of an Older Throttle

A twin like the Speed Twin's suits a throttle that behaves the way a classic bike's cable-operated grip did, with resistance that builds as it opens rather than staying uniform. The shorter throw and progressive spring are built around that comparison rather than a purely electronic feel.

B-Roads, Not a Grid

Most Speed Twin riding happens on A- and B-roads at a relaxed pace, where throttle inputs are frequent but rarely held wide open for long. A shorter rotation keeps those frequent, small adjustments precise rather than spread thin across a long mechanical travel.

A Short Visit to the Diagnostic Port

Fitting finishes with a throttle position relearn via the bike's diagnostic system, a brief step that resets the ECU's baseline to match the new unit rather than the original grip. It does not involve touching the fuel maps. Most dealers familiar with Triumph's diagnostic tools can complete it within a normal service visit.

Keeping the Original Safe

The standard throttle body is removed intact rather than cut apart, so it can be refitted later if an owner wants to return to the factory setup. The change leaves no permanent mark on the bike. A future owner who prefers the stock setup can switch back without any trace of the change.
