DescriptionThe whole story▼
The SuperSport 939 S adds sharper suspension over the base 939, and the JP ACCGP DU020 matches it with the GP Series' milled Ergal body and three-stage adjustable preload, cutting the throttle's rotation to 60 degrees for an owner who takes the sport-touring S version onto the occasional circuit day.
Key Features
- Ducati SuperSport 939 S (2017–2020)
- GP Series ride-by-wire quick throttle with a sixty degree rotation angle
- Progressive return spring, preload adjustable externally in three positions
- CNC-machined from solid Ergal 7075
- Plug-and-play on the motorcycle's own connector
- Standard throttle assembly refits at any time
The S, Set Apart by Suspension
The 939 S distinguishes itself from the base SuperSport mainly through firmer, more adjustable suspension aimed at riders who want the same sport-touring format with a sharper edge for occasional circuit use. A throttle whose preload can also be adjusted keeps that same philosophy of fine-tuning consistent rather than leaving one part of the bike fixed.
Two Roles, Three Stages
An S owner who commutes on the bike through the week and takes it onto a track day occasionally needs the throttle to behave differently in each role, and the GP Series' three external preload stages make that adjustment possible without opening the throttle body or needing specialist tools.
Machined for Repeated Hard Use
The GP Series lever is milled from a single billet of 7075 aluminium rather than cast, holding its tolerances more consistently through the kind of repeated, hard throttle use a track-day session involves than a cast part generally would over the same mileage.
A Shorter Reach Through the Corner
Reducing the throttle's rotation to 60 degrees shortens the distance the hand has to travel to reach full opening, which matters more through a sequence of fast corners on a circuit than it does cruising a motorway, where throttle inputs are fewer and less urgent.
Semi-Sport Wrists on Track
The 939 S's semi-sport riding position already loads the wrist more than an upright bike would, and a track-day session, where throttle inputs come faster and more often than on the road, makes every degree of unnecessary rotation add up more quickly than it would during ordinary riding.
Road Spec on Request
An owner who decides the sharper stroke suits road riding less than expected can refit the factory throttle with the preload setting and cable routing exactly as they were before, since the GP Series is designed to be removed as cleanly as it is installed.
