DescriptionThe whole story▼
Akrapovic prints a market warning on this one: the product was developed and tested on EU specification machines, and fitment and performance may vary elsewhere. On a motorcycle as widely exported as the Hayabusa, that is not a footnote.
Key Features
- Developed and tested on EU specification Hayabusas
- Made for the Racing Line (Titanium) S-S13R1-APLT
- That system is not in the current price list — confirm compatibility
- Covers the 2021 generation Hayabusa
- Akrapovic publishes no decibel figure for it
Why the Market Note Matters Here
The Hayabusa has been sold in radically different states of tune around the world, with different emissions equipment and, in some markets, different exhaust internals. A restrictor dimensioned around the European exhaust is not guaranteed to suit an imported machine.
If the motorcycle came into the country privately rather than through a Suzuki dealer, this is worth checking before ordering. The frame number will tell a dealer which specification it left the factory in.
The Named System
Akrapovic specifies the Racing Line (Titanium) S-S13R1-APLT. That part number does not appear in the price list this shop buys from, which carries other Akrapovic systems for the 2021 Hayabusa.
Whether this damper suits one of those is a question for the distributor. A noise insert is dimensioned to a specific outlet, so it is not a question worth guessing at.
A Motorcycle That Attracts Attention
The Hayabusa has spent twenty-five years as shorthand for outright speed, and it is one of the machines a noise official will look at twice. A rider taking one to a track day is more likely than most to be asked for a static reading.
Having the damper in the toolbox before that happens is the difference between riding and watching.
No Published Effect
Akrapovic gives no figure for how far the reading drops. Nothing is estimated here — the reduction depends on the system, the engine and the measurement, and inventing a number for a product page would be worse than admitting the absence.
Removable, Always
A noise damper is a bolt-in restrictor, not a modification. It goes in for the meeting that requires it and comes out afterwards with hand tools, and nothing about the exhaust is permanently changed.
The 2021 Generation
Suzuki updated the Hayabusa for 2021 with a new exhaust and Euro 5 compliance. This damper belongs to that machine; the earlier bikes have different systems and different inserts.
Optional
The Racing Line is complete without it. Akrapovic sells the damper separately because only some venues require it, and there is no point adding cost to every system for a minority case.
Road Approval
Not applicable in the usual sense. This addresses a circuit's noise limit; the Racing Line it fits is a competition system without road approval in any case.
