DescriptionThe whole story▼
A fair number of these machines arrived in Europe one at a time rather than through a showroom, brought in by riders who wanted a cross-country bike and were happy to look abroad for it. The engine and the chassis give nobody any trouble. What occasionally worries a new owner is whether the ordinary consumables will be easy to find years later. For the 300XC the answer on the handlebar is yes: Accossato lists the AGD316 for it from 2014 to 2018, a silver front brake lever in the original form.
Key Features
- Front brake lever in the original form for the KTM 300XC
- Accossato's entry covers 2014 to 2018
- Silver
- Right-hand side of the bar, front brake
- An original spare parts type, developed by Accossato for value for money
- The maker states that its production process improves resistance after damage
- One lever per pack
- No German ABE or test mark held; listed for racing and competition
Construction and Material Quality
Nothing about this part is specific to one importer or one market. The AGD316 is made to the outline of the brake lever the 300XC carries as standard, which is why it works with the perch already on the bike and why the same blade appears under so many related designations. Accossato puts it among the original spare parts types it developed with value for money in mind, and says that the manufacturing method used leaves the levers more resistant after damage or a collision. Silver is the colour listed for this fitment. There is no published material, weight or measurement, so this text makes no mention of any.
A Bike Bought From Abroad
Owning an imported machine is mostly pleasant and occasionally administrative. Documents take longer, a dealer may not have seen one before, and the owner ends up learning the parts catalogue rather better than the average rider. The good news is that the pieces which break most often are almost never model-specific. Handlebar controls, bearings and fasteners are shared across whole families of machines built on the same line, so a bike that looks rare in a European car park is usually ordinary once the panels are off. It pays to work this out early rather than in a hurry. Write down the codes that fit your 300XC on the inside of the toolbox lid, order one spare for each side while nothing depends on it, and keep them with the bike rather than on a shelf with the winter projects. Check the codes against the part in your hand instead of against the name on the side panel, because machines in this family share cockpits across several designations and across more than one badge, and a model name on its own is a weak way to identify a lever. Do that once and the question never comes up again; skip it, and the first broken blade turns into a fortnight of waiting in the middle of the season.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists the AGD316 for the 300XC from 2014 to 2018 and gives the AGS14 on the clutch side from 2006 to 2018, so both halves of the handlebar are covered by a single entry each. The brake code is one of the most widely shared in this family and appears in our catalogue for the Husqvarna FC 250, the Husqvarna FE 450 and the Husqvarna TC 250 as well, which is exactly the sharing described above. Riders who would rather fit a tuning part will find Accossato's CNC levers for the 300XC under B8283 and C7283.
Road Approval
No approval documents were supplied with the AGD316, so there is no German ABE and no test mark to state, and the lever is listed for racing and competition use.
