DescriptionThe whole story▼
Every workshop has a story about a lever that was bent back into line and worked fine for a season. It is the kind of repair that looks sensible on a Sunday morning when the meeting starts in an hour, and it is the reason the advice here is so blunt. On an FC 450 the front brake lever is a part you replace. Accossato lists the AGD316 for the 2014 to 2017 bikes, a silver front brake lever in the original shape, at a price that makes the shortcut pointless.

Construction and Material Quality
Accossato's original spare parts types exist for one reason: to put a broken control back the way it was without the cost of a franchised part. The AGD316 follows the shape of the brake lever Husqvarna fitted to the FC 450 of those years, so the cockpit is restored rather than altered. Accossato states that the process by which these levers are produced makes them more resistant after damage or a collision, and gives the colour as silver. It publishes no material and no measurements, and none are claimed on our side.
Why Straightening Is Not an Option
Bending a lever back seems to work because the shape returns. What does not return is the condition of the metal at the point where it was bent. Forcing a part out of line and then forcing it back stretches and compresses the same small area twice, and a crack that starts there is usually invisible under dirt and grease. It stays invisible until a load arrives that opens it, which on a motocross bike means a hard braking point or the moment the machine hits the ground again. A brake lever that fails at the end of a straight is a far more serious problem than one that broke in the paddock. There is a rule to consider as well: at organised meetings a scrutineer may reject a lever that has been repaired or that ends in a sharp edge rather than a rounded tip. Replace the lever, put the bent one in the bin rather than back in the toolbox, and fit the new one with a clean pivot, a trace of grease and a firm pressure point checked before the first lap.
Fitment and Compatibility
On Accossato's list the AGD316 belongs to the FC 450 from 2014 to 2017, and the AGD14 takes over for 2018 to 2021. The same lever is listed with us for the FC 350, the FE 250 and the TE 250 as well, so a workshop looking after several Husqvarnas of that period can keep one spare for all of them. On the clutch side the FC 450 has the AGS14 up to 2016 and the AGS17 from 2018. Accossato's CNC brake lever for this model is the B8283.
Road Approval
No test certificate and no approval document for the AGD316 has come to us, so there is no German ABE to quote and no test mark, and we list it for racing and competition.
