A pair of 70's silencers in Spark's Black Series finish for the air-cooled Bonneville, supplied homologated with a catalyst inside each pipe. Take the catalysts out and the same silencers become a track part.
Key Features
- Pair of 70's slip-on silencers for the Triumph Bonneville and Bonneville SE, 2005 to 2015.
- AISI 304 stainless steel in Spark's Black Series finish.
- Homologated version: two special catalysts sit in the pipes and are removable.
- Complies with the emissions regulations in its homologated configuration.
- Sold as a pair — both sides of the twin, not a single silencer.
- Spark part number GTR0201BOM, made by Spark in Mantova, Italy.
The Catalysts Are the Article
What separates this version from Spark's racing silencers for the same bike is what is inside the pipes: two catalysts, one per side, fitted specifically so the set can be homologated. Spark's wording is exact — the homologated version is provided with two special catalysts in the pipes, and complies with the regulations governing exhaust emissions.
They are removable. That is a workshop fact rather than an invitation: with the catalysts out, the homologation no longer describes what is on the bike, and the set becomes a closed-course part.
Black Series
Black Series is Spark's black finish over AISI 304 stainless. On a Bonneville it does something the polished version cannot: it lets the silencers disappear into the shadow under the frame rails, so the eye goes to the tank and the engine cases instead of to two bright tubes.
It suits the darker builds — black wheels, black bars, a bike that has had its chrome quietly reduced. The polished stainless version of the same silencer is a different article number.
The 70's Shape
The 70's is Spark's long, slim, straight-taper silencer — the profile the factory bikes wore before the industry discovered volume. It runs the length of the swingarm and finishes in a plain cut, with no end cap detail to date it.
On a bike Triumph designed to look like 1969, it is the shape that argues least with the rest of the motorcycle.
What the Certificate Covers
Spark supplies this set homologated, and the certificate is in the box. The dealer price list carries an asterisk against the homologation for this group without explaining what it restricts, so we will not claim an emissions standard we cannot document. Read the certificate that arrives with the silencers before the bike goes for inspection, and if anything on it is unclear, send us a photograph and we will read it with you.
Why There Is No Photograph
Spark photographs this article family only in polished stainless steel. Every picture on the article page shows the bright version, not the Black Series one you are buying, and we would rather show you nothing than a photograph of the wrong finish.
If you want to see the black finish before deciding, ask us — the same Black Series treatment appears on our other Spark Triumph silencers, which are photographed.
Fitment & Compatibility
Triumph Bonneville and Bonneville SE, 2005 to 2015 — the air-cooled 865 cc twin. Spark lists the Bonneville Spirit for this article number as well; it is the same engine and the same frame, and the silencers fit it unchanged. Slip-on installation onto the original header pipes. If your Bonneville has already been modified at the header, send us a photograph before ordering.
