DescriptionThe whole story▼
Piston rod, external 12/100.4, Öhlins part number 06127-03. Öhlins machines the ports rather than casting them, so the edges stay sharp and the flow predictable.
Key Features

- Length 100.4 mm
- Öhlins part number 06127-03
- Diameter 12 mm
Function
Öhlins gives it as 12 mm, 100.4 mm; nothing about that is approximate. Öhlins machines the ports rather than casting them, so the edges stay sharp and the flow predictable. Piston bands are consumables — they wear against the bore and lose their seal gradually. Needle geometry sets the shape of the adjustable range, not just its size.
Why the Original
Öhlins is one of the few suspension makers that still supplies every position in the exploded view as a single part. The part is identical to what Öhlins fits in production — same supplier, same specification. Service parts are supplied per piece unless the description says otherwise. Öhlins numbers do not follow a logic you can guess — always read them from the documentation.
Getting the Number Right
06127-03 is the Öhlins number for this position — the same one printed in the service documentation. Check diameter 12 mm, length 100.4 mm against what you have removed; a close size is not the same part. Jets meter fixed bleed flow and are sized in tenths of a millimetre. Rebuilding a piston means keeping the shim order, because the stack is the tuning.
Fitting and Setup Service
Öhlins recommends that its units are serviced by an authorised centre. We are one: rebuild, revalve and setup all happen in our own workshop.
