Size chart MT Helmets Stinger 2
| Size | Head circumference (cm) | Head circumference (inch) |
|---|---|---|
| XXS | 51–52 cm | 20.1–20.5 in |
| XS | 53–54 cm | 20.9–21.3 in |
| S | 55–56 cm | 21.7–22.0 in |
| M | 57–58 cm | 22.4–22.8 in |
| L | 59–60 cm | 23.2–23.6 in |
| XL | 61–62 cm | 24.0–24.4 in |
| XXL | 63–64 cm | 24.8–25.2 in |
| XXXL | 65–66 cm | 25.6–26.0 in |

How to measure your helmet size correctly: Measure your head circumference with a flexible tape around the widest part of the head, about 1–2 cm above the eyebrows. Measure 2–3 times and compare with the chart. Between sizes, usually choose the larger size.
Important note on fit
The right helmet should fit firmly without uncomfortable pressure points. A new helmet may feel a little tighter at first, as the inner lining adapts slightly over time.

A toucan in profile, its enormous orange-and-yellow bill running the length of the flank, set among teal palm fronds on a white shell with STINGER 2 lettered in a small banner near the chin. Caribbean A6 is an illustration rather than a graphic pack, and it is the most carefully drawn helmet in our MT range.
About the Caribbean A6 illustration
The base is gloss white. The bird occupies the flank with a black body, a white breast and a bill worked through orange, yellow and pale green; behind it, teal and deep green fronds fill the lower shell and continue across the chin bar.
Look at where the bill goes. It runs forward onto the chin bar and stops just short of the visor aperture, so the composition still resolves from head-on — the angle most helmet graphics quietly abandon, because the front of a shell is a compound curve and registration errors show there first.
Living with a white helmet
Two honest points about the colour. A white gloss shell shows road film, insects and fuel splashes more clearly than any other, and this one has a printed illustration under the clearcoat that you will be cleaning around rather than over.
The compensation is real and physical: a white shell reflects most of the solar radiation that hits it where a black one absorbs it and re-radiates it inward. On a stationary bike in summer the difference in shell temperature is large enough to feel with a hand — and a helmet that stays cooler is a helmet you keep on at the lights instead of taking off.
Cleaning it without damaging the print
Never wipe a dry shell. Grit dragged across gloss leaves swirls, and over a printed graphic the clearcoat film is thinner than over plain paint, so they appear more readily.
Soak insects off with a wet cloth laid over them for a minute rather than scrubbing — insect remains are acidic and etch clearcoat if a hot afternoon gets to them first. And no solvent-based cleaners: petrol and brake cleaner haze the film over a print faster than anywhere else on the helmet.
ECE 22.06 · no DOT
Mandatory across Europe since January 2024. Against the 22.05: 18 impact points instead of five, several impact speeds, an oblique impact against an abrasive anvil for rotational loading, and a Brain Injury Criterion limit. No DOT marking is published for the Stinger 2.
No sun visor
Nothing drops down inside this helmet. The route to a tint is a smoked MT-V-28B as a second screen, which swaps in seconds through MT-QVSS but has to be carried.
On a white helmet there is a second argument for the tinted screen: a pale chin bar bounces a surprising amount of light up under the visor on a bright day. It is mild, it is real, and dark helmets do not do it.
MT-QVSS
Two buttons release the screen — no tools, no side plates, workable in gloves. MT's patented mechanism, and on a model without an internal shade it is the feature that makes a two-screen setup practical.
The shell and the standard underneath
HIRP — High Impact Resistant Polymer — injection-moulded at around 1,600 g, and identical to every other Stinger 2 regardless of what is printed on it.
Worth saying plainly: the illustration adds nothing to the protection and takes nothing away. A helmet with a toucan on it and a plain white one are the same helmet.
How the illustration is applied
The drawing is not painted by hand and it is not a sticker. It is printed — MT uses a transfer process that lays the artwork onto the moulded shell before the clearcoat goes on, so the print sits under the protective layer rather than on top of it.
That is why the graphic cannot peel or lift at an edge the way a decal does, and it is also why cleaning matters: everything you touch is the clearcoat, and the film over a printed area is thinner than over plain paint. Treat the clearcoat well and the drawing outlasts the helmet's five-year life comfortably.
On weight: the Stinger 2 comes in around 1,600 g — roughly 100 g more than MT's sport full-faces and 100 g less than their modular.
On an upright bike that difference is close to imperceptible, because your spine carries the load nearly vertically. It shows up in two places: on a sports bike with your neck extended, and at the end of a very long day. If you are choosing between this and something lighter for touring, the weight is a fair argument; for commuting and weekend riding it is not the number to decide on.
Anti-fog
Prepared for Pinlock DKS435; the insert is not supplied. It is the first accessory to buy if you ride outside summer.
Retention and interior
An MT-MDTC micrometric double-teeth closure, and a hypoallergenic, removable and washable lining with a slot for a universal UCS intercom.
On a white helmet the lining shows its age at the brow band long before the paint shows anything at all. Washing it a few times a season is what keeps the whole helmet looking its age rather than older — and it is a five-minute job, not a chore.
Hand-wash only. The foam inside a cheek pad is closed-cell and does not survive a machine's spin cycle; it comes back permanently flatter, which quietly turns a correctly sized helmet into one that is too big.
