Concept to Production Unchanged
MV showed the Superveloce as a concept and then built it almost exactly as drawn, which is rare enough to be worth noting. The round headlight, the single seat hump and the tank shape all survived the transition to a homologated motorcycle.
An F3 Underneath
Nothing was softened for the retro treatment. The chassis, the counter-rotating crank and the 798 cc triple are the F3's, which means the Superveloce is genuinely fast rather than merely handsome.
A Logo on a Period Design
The Superveloce quotes the 1960s closely, and a modern manufacturer's lettering in the cockpit works against that. JetPrime supplies the plain version for owners who agree, and this one for those who do not mind.
Cut Rather Than Printed
Machined into the aluminium before anodising. Whatever one thinks of the logo, it is part of the component's shape and will not degrade the way an applied badge would on a surface the hand covers.
Metal Where the Eye Falls
Controls in the era this bike references were machined from metal. An aluminium housing cut from billet is closer in spirit to that than a casting with a plastic cover, whichever version of the flank is chosen.
Mechanical Conversion
Cable throttle, original cables retained, nothing electrical touched. The standard housing refits at any point, which on a heavily oversubscribed limited-run motorcycle is worth preserving.
Sold Faster Than It Could Be Built
The Serie Oro run of 300 was allocated before production began, and the standard Superveloce has been oversubscribed since. MV's ability to sell a motorcycle on its appearance remains its most reliable commercial asset.
