The Engraved Version
JetPrime's name is cut into the face on this body. It is the only difference from the plain one and it is entirely a question of taste.
The Grand Tour
Ducati offered a fully equipped 1260 with panniers, heated grips, a centre stand and a comfort seat as a single package. It is the version that makes the most sense second-hand.
Torque From the Diavel
The 1262 cc DVT engine came from the cruiser and brought 129 newton metres with it. On a loaded touring bike that number matters far more than the power figure above it.
Throttle Assembly Alone
The switch block stays where it is. This part covers the housing, which is what most owners need when nothing electrical requires attention.
Long Days at the Grip
Holding an opening for hours is a different demand from working it constantly. A bore that has stayed true keeps that stable and the hand fresher at the end of it.
Black Anodised
Converted into the aluminium. On a motorcycle ridden in weather that keeps other bikes garaged, no coating lasts the way anodising does.
Cut From Solid
Ergal 7075 at roughly double the yield strength of ordinary machined alloy. The handlebar on a loaded adventure bike carries real force when it goes over.
A Longer Wheelbase
Ducati stretched the swingarm and steepened the head angle, which made the 1260 more stable at speed without dulling the steering. It is a better-resolved motorcycle than the 1200 it replaced.
A Mark That Outlasts the Bike
Because the engraving is cut into the anodised layer, it neither wears nor fades. Whatever happens to the rest of the motorcycle, that face stays as it left the machine.
