The Other Hole Pattern
Staggered rather than aligned. Both exist because the master cylinder clamps on these motorcycles come in two arrangements, and the wrong one will not mount however hard it is persuaded.
Twelve Years at One Litre
Aprilia held the V4 at 999.6 cc from 2009 until 2021 and found its power in intake, camshaft and electronics work. The enlargement to 1099 cc, when it came, changed the character rather than the headline figure.
A Dashboard That Does Rather a Lot
Lap timing, full telemetry logging, six configurable modes and every rider aid displayed and adjustable. The screen is navigated from the bar, which is why the switchgear on a current RSV4 works harder than it used to.
Electronic Steering Damper
The current bike varies its damping with speed rather than holding a fixed setting. It is the sort of detail that only becomes obvious when riding something that does not have it.
Black Anodised
Converted into the aluminium rather than sprayed over it. A scuff dulls the finish rather than exposing bright metal through a chipped coating.
One Block of Ergal
Machined with the elements sealed inside. There is no two-part shell, which removes the seam that lets water reach contacts on the original assembly.
Where a Casting Loses
A moulded housing holds its tolerance well enough when new and gradually stops. A machined body does not have the same relationship with time, which is most of what is being bought here.
Aprilia's Own Plug
Pre-wired, so the swap is fifteen minutes and entirely reversible. Nothing is coded and nothing is cut.
Where the Engine Grew
Aprilia found the extra hundred cubic centimetres in bore rather than stroke, which kept the engine's rev ceiling intact while adding torque everywhere below it. The result is a superbike that no longer needs to be held above eight thousand to feel like one.
