Where the Switch Sits
Bolted to the stand bracket, low on the left, in the spray from the front wheel and within reach of every pressure washer ever aimed at a swingarm.
The Switch Leaves With It
It is bolted to the bracket, so there is no way to keep one without the other. The engine then refuses to run with a gear engaged.
Note It Somewhere
Anybody diagnosing the motorcycle later will assume the interlock works as Triumph built it. A line in the service book saves them an hour.
A Question Worth Asking First
Is the stand still on the motorcycle? If it is, the interlock is protecting against a real mistake and the sensible move is a new switch rather than an eliminator. The distinction matters and it is the whole decision.
Preparation Order
Lights, mirrors, plate, stand, then everything else. Fitting the eliminator immediately after the stand comes off means the engine will run in gear for the rest of the evening's work, which is the only way to test anything else.
A Note for Whoever Works on It Next
An eliminator is not visible to somebody who is not looking for one, and the motorcycle behaves in a way the manual does not describe. A line in the service book saves an hour of genuine confusion.
Not a Weight Saving
The switch weighs nothing. This is about a failed component or a removed stand, and never about mass.
