The JP ES 011 lets the Panigale 959 run in gear with the side stand switch removed, which is the point at which a track machine loses the stand entirely.

The Approachable Panigale
Less power and a softer delivery than the 1299, in the same chassis. On a road it is the quicker of the two more often than owners admit.
Five Minutes
One connector near the swingarm pivot, reached without removing bodywork on most models. It is the shortest job on any preparation list.
On a Panigale
The stand comes off with the lights, the mirrors and the plate in the first evening. Very few track-prepared superbikes keep one.
The Cost of Doing Nothing
An interlock that cuts the engine at random is not merely annoying, it is dangerous in traffic. Leaving it alone is the worst option available.
Checked at Every Start
The state is read as the ignition comes on, so any problem with the fitment appears immediately rather than halfway through a ride.
After a Fall
A drop on the left lands on the stand, and a bent bracket puts the switch out of position even when the switch itself is fine.
Why Not Just Bridge the Plug
A paperclip and some tape produce the same result until they do not. The connector is in the wettest, dirtiest part of the motorcycle, and an intermittent bridge produces an engine that cuts out unpredictably, which is considerably worse than the fault it was hiding.
Diagnosing Before Deleting
A stand switch that has failed produces exactly the behaviour a missing one does, so it is worth knowing which situation applies. On a road machine the correct answer is usually a new switch; on a track machine the switch was coming off anyway and the eliminator is the shorter route.
