The JP ES 022 lets the Monster 797 run in gear with the side stand switch removed, which is the point at which a track machine loses the stand entirely.

Simple by Design
No riding modes and very little electronics. Ducati built the 797 for riders who wanted a Monster rather than a technology demonstration.
Keep It on a Road Bike
With a stand still fitted the interlock is doing real work. Disabling it turns an easy mistake into a locked rear wheel at a junction.
A Bent Bracket Looks Identical
A drop on the left can move the switch out of position without damaging it, and the symptoms are the same as a failure.
Why Bridging Goes Wrong
The controller looks for a particular condition rather than continuity, and a jumper across the terminals sometimes reads as a different fault entirely.

The switch weighs nothing. This is about a component that has failed or a stand that has gone, and no honest description says otherwise.

No adjustment, no polarity, no calibration. It either restores the expected state or it does not, and in practice it always does.
The Road Warning, Stated Plainly
On a motorcycle used on public roads the interlock is worth keeping. Fitting this part means the engine will run and drive with the stand down, and the consequence of forgetting that is a low-speed crash at the first left turn.
The Connector Position
It sits low and forward on the left, generally reachable once a belly pan or a side panel is off, and occasionally without removing anything at all. Whatever the model, the eliminator should be tied up rather than left where the chain run can reach it.
