The Factory Specification
Semi-active Öhlins on a naked bike with a hundred and seventy-five horsepower. It does more work here than on a faired machine because the rider moves around far more.
Prepared More Often
The Factory is the version bought by riders who intend to use a circuit, and circuit preparation removes the stand along with the lights and the plate.
The Input Goes Too
The switch is bolted to the stand bracket. With both gone the controller cannot confirm the stand is up and the engine cuts in gear.
Satisfied Correctly
This unit supplies the expected state rather than bridging terminals, so nothing appears and nothing is stored.
The 2019 Update
Aprilia revised the bodywork, the electronics and the screen. It was the last significant change before the platform moved to the current RSV4 frame.

Fitted as standard, which sounds absurd on a naked superbike until a motorway section appears between two good roads.

Öhlins Smart EC
The Factory's semi-active damping is set up by describing what the bike should do rather than by counting clicks on a screwdriver. It is one of the few electronic suspension interfaces that a rider can actually use between sessions without a manual.
A Longer Swingarm
Aprilia added length behind the engine on this generation, which transformed how the bike behaves under power on a bumpy road and cost nothing anywhere else. It is the kind of change that never appears in an advertisement and is felt on every exit.
