Two RFs, One Coincidence
The RF in this part number refers to the control layout, not to the model badge. It happens to fit the RSV4 RF, and it equally fits an RR of the same years, which confuses more orders than it should.
Öhlins Over the New Engine
The updated RF kept its suspension advantage over the RR while gaining the 201 hp engine, cornering ABS and the revised fairing. It remained the version Aprilia sold in numbered batches.
The Column Rearranged
Same functions, different order, with the blue button dropped to the bottom. It takes one session to stop noticing and about three corners after that to stop looking down at all.
An Airbox Inside the Frame
The V4 breathes through ducts in the fairing nose into a plenum between the frame spars. It is why the motorcycle is narrower than its power output suggests, and it is entirely invisible with the tank on.
Four Anodised Colours
Black, blue, red and titanium. The RF's livery carries enough going on already that black usually settles the cockpit, though red picks up the fairing accents cleanly.
Machined From Solid
A single block of Ergal 7075. There is no two-part shell, so there is no seam, and the fastener that loses tension on a moulded cover does not exist here.
Found by Feel
On a superbike the eyes are occupied and the hands are working. Defined edges and honest switch travel are what tell a rider through a glove that an input has registered, which no printed legend has ever done.
The Motorcycle's Own Plug
Pre-wired, so nothing is spliced. Two fasteners and one connector, and the diagnostics show exactly what they showed the day before.
