The JP CJP 172B is the programmable fuel controller for the TRK 502 X: a full map with every cell empty, waiting for somebody with software and a wideband sensor.

Spoked Wheels and a Nineteen Inch Front
The X version takes the same twin somewhere rougher, with longer travel and a taller stance. The engine tune is unchanged.
Racing Modifications
The manufacturer's own words: exhaust systems and air filters. Those are the changes that move the mixture furthest, and this unit exists to follow them properly rather than approximately.
Not for a Standard Motorcycle
An unmodified machine with the original exhaust does not need a programmable map. The cheaper preset module addresses that case and this one is overkill for it.
Small Increments, Always
Three percent at a time. An engine responds to that clearly enough to judge and not so violently that a mistake is expensive.
Two Silencers, Two Files
Switching exhausts means switching maps. Both live on the laptop and writing either takes under a minute, which is the flexibility the preset module cannot offer.
Interpolation Explained
Between two cells the unit blends the values proportionally. A map with a spike produces an engine with a spike, which is why smoothing is part of the work.
On a Road Bike
Worth it if the motorcycle is genuinely modified and the owner enjoys the work. Otherwise the preset module reaches most of the benefit for less money and no evenings.
Comparing Before and After
Log the same road with the old map and the new one. It is the only honest way to know whether an evening's work achieved anything.
Where Owners Give Up
Not at the fitting and not at the software. It is the discipline of repeatable measurement that defeats people, because a map built on inconsistent readings is worse than no map at all.
