The JP CJP 172D puts the Imperiale's fuel map in the owner's hands: revs on one axis, load on the other and a correction in every cell.

A Retro Single
Benelli's 374 cc single is built to look like the nineteen fifties and to be as simple to live with as that suggests. Nothing about it is in a hurry.
Nothing Is Locked
There is no dealer code, no subscription and no limit on how often the map is rewritten. The unit belongs to whoever owns it, which is not true of every tuning product.
Reversibility in Practice
The original connectors go back together in minutes and nothing has been written to the motorcycle. That matters at a service, at a sale and during any diagnosis.
Ambient Conditions
A map developed on a cold morning is slightly rich on a hot afternoon. The standard controller compensates for most of it and the last part is the price of a fixed map.
The Standard Sensor Is Not Enough
A narrowband oxygen sensor only reports near stoichiometric. It cannot tell you what the mixture is doing at full load, which is exactly where you need to know.
Race Fuel Needs Its Own Map
A different octane and a different energy content change the requirement. Two files, clearly named, and the discipline to write the right one before the session.
Cold Starting
Warm-up enrichment is the standard controller's job. A map can be shaped for a cold engine but the fundamental strategy is not this unit's to change.
Catalyst Removal
Taking the catalyst out changes back pressure and removes a component the factory map assumed. It is one of the strongest reasons to be running a programmable unit.

Which exhaust, which filter, which fuel and which map file. That record is what makes a map reusable next season and what makes it worthless without.
