The JP ES 007 takes the Z400's Clean Air System valve out of the picture and keeps the display quiet.

Upright and Comfortable
The riding position is genuinely usable for commuting, which is what most of these do. It is the sensible half of the 400 family.
Sugomi Styling
Kawasaki's angular design language, applied to a small motorcycle where it works better than on some of the larger ones. It is unmistakable at a distance.
The Valve and the Check
A solenoid opens the path and the engine controller measures its winding at every ignition cycle. The air itself is harmless to remove; the measurement is what makes an unplugged connector produce a permanent warning.
Scrutineering
A lit fault indicator reads as an unresolved problem at the gate whatever caused it, and explaining takes longer than fitting the part would have done.
The Rider Never Controls It
There is no switch, no menu and no indication the valve exists. Most owners first hear of it when an exhaust change makes its consequences audible.
Keep the Wiring Tidy
The eliminator needs supporting rather than dangling on its own connector. Anything left swinging under a tank eventually finds something to rub against.
Not Related to the Exhaust Valve
Several Kawasakis also carry a servo-operated butterfly in the silencer, which is an entirely separate system. Confusing the two leads to ordering the wrong part.
The Sound Is Not a Fault
Riders frequently assume something is wrong, because an engine making unexpected noises is unsettling regardless of whether anything is. Nothing is, and the noise has been produced by emissions hardware all along.
Two Halves, One Decision
Kawasaki splits the system between an electrical circuit and a mechanical assembly, and the aftermarket follows. Doing both is a complete deletion; doing one is a partial one, and there is no shame in stopping halfway if that is what the owner wants.
