The JP KS HO017 swaps the CBR1000RR Fireblade's lock barrel for a machined switch, which is the point at which a motorcycle stops being something you can park in a street.

The Fireblade Years
Honda's superbike spent two decades being the lightest and least intimidating thing in the class, which made it the machine club racers chose when they wanted to finish the season.
IP69K
The rating covers high-pressure, high-temperature washing. A switch sitting in the open above the front wheel needs it and most switches do not have it.
Anodised
Colour converted into the aluminium rather than laid on top, which is why it still looks the same after a season of brake cleaner.
On the Top Yoke
The plate follows the yoke's shape on most models, which is why the part number changes even between bikes that look similar.
Not a Road Modification
A registered motorcycle needs its lock and usually its immobiliser. This is a part for machines used on circuits.
Access
Reaching the connector generally means lifting the tank or a cover. On some models it is visible as soon as the block is unbolted.
The Number Is Modest
Three hundred and fifty grams. Nobody should buy this expecting a lap time, and everybody who has fitted one mentions the keyless operation first.
A Decade of Service
There is nothing inside to wear out and nothing outside to corrode. Fitted properly it outlasts most of what surrounds it on the motorcycle.
The Rider's Fingertip
It is the only part of this component anybody touches. That is why the switch, not the body, is the expensive half of the part.
The Immobiliser, Before Anything Else
If the key carries a chip, the aerial around the barrel belongs to the starting circuit and the engine will not run without it. Race looms and standalone controllers usually settle that already. On a standard bike it is the one thing that can stop this job.
