The JP KS DU005 clears the top yoke of the Panigale 1299 S: lock, bracket and key out, one anodised body with one button in.

Semi-Active and Final
The S added electronically managed damping to the largest twin superbike Ducati ever built. These machines are old enough now to be prepared without hesitation.
Check the Immobiliser First
Where the key carries a transponder, the ring around the barrel is part of the starting circuit. That has to be settled before the barrel comes off.
Anodised
Colour converted into the aluminium rather than laid on top, which is why it still looks the same after a season of brake cleaner.
How the Engine Is Killed
The button breaks the ignition circuit exactly as turning the key to off did. Nothing about the way the engine stops changes.
What Stays
Switchgear, starter button, lights and every rider aid. This part occupies the space the ignition block did and nothing else.
Refitting
The standard block goes back on its own fasteners with its own connector, which takes about as long as removing it did.
Sealed Against a Pressure Washer
The IP69K rating is specifically about close-range hot water at pressure, which is precisely how a race bike gets cleaned on a Sunday evening.
Why the Lock Is Last to Go
Because it still works, and because removing it means dealing with the wiring rather than undoing a bracket. This part is what makes that step short.
The Colour Choice
Where several finishes exist, they are the same part with a different anodising bath. Nothing functional changes between them.
Regulations and Scrutineering
Championships set their own rules about how an engine must be stoppable and where the control sits. A sealed button in the standard yoke position satisfies most of them, but the rulebook is the only authority worth consulting and it is worth reading before ordering.
