Ducati restyled the SuperSport in 2021 with the superbike's face, which transformed how the model was perceived without changing what it was.
The Tank Still Breathes
Fuel drawn out has to be replaced by air coming in, so the kit supplies a proper vent fitting rather than leaving a hose to find its own way.
Room for a Racing Exhaust
Aftermarket systems mount in the same congested area, and clearing the canister is frequently what turns a difficult fit into a straightforward one.
A Bigger Tank Works It Harder
The Multistradas carry more fuel and produce proportionally more vapour while the canister stays the same size. Saturation arrives sooner on those machines.
Photograph Everything First
The routing is genuinely hard to reconstruct from memory, particularly where a hose passes behind the frame. Two minutes with a camera prevents that.
The Hoses Are the Weak Point
They harden, chafe against brackets and split at the ends where the clips grip them. On a machine ridden hard that is a fuel smell and a code.
The Inspection Question
Where periodic testing includes a visual check, an absent canister is a straightforward failure. Keeping the parts makes the refit an evening rather than a parts order and a delay.
The Vent Is Not Optional
A fuel tank has to breathe. Take the canister out without providing a proper vent and the tank either pulls a vacuum and starves the engine or pressurises and pushes fuel out somewhere unhelpful. The kit provides a fitting for that reason, and it is the part of the job nobody should improvise.
Where Ducati Puts the Canister
It goes wherever there is room, which on a superbike means under the tail and on an adventure machine means alongside the swingarm or behind the engine. That is why the space it frees is worth different amounts to different owners, and why the job is worth doing on some models and barely noticeable on others.
