A Bike Supplied With a Race Kit
Every RC came with a titanium exhaust, a dedicated ECU, racing bodywork and stands in a crate. MV expected these motorcycles to be prepared for circuits, and a shortened throttle is a natural part of that preparation.
Two Hundred and Twelve Horsepower
With the kit fitted the RC exceeds its road specification substantially. On an engine making that much from 998 cc, the relationship between the wrist and the throttle bodies determines how usable it is out of a corner.
What Has to Be Restored
The right-hand switch block, because MV builds it into the throttle assembly. Scrutineers check the engine stop switch on any machine entering a circuit, so restoring it properly is a requirement rather than a preference.
An Independent Clamp
Mounting to the bar rather than the tube means the throttle can be changed again as the setup develops, and the switch angle is chosen rather than inherited from where the assembly happens to end.
Numbered and Undoable
Every RC carries a Reparto Corse plaque. Pre-wiring for the original connector means the standard parts refit without trace, which is the property that makes a modification defensible on a machine like this.
Sealed Elements
Military-specification contacts in a one-piece machined body. A bike washed hot after every session and stored damp between meetings meets more water in a weekend than a road motorcycle does in a month.
Titanium
A single finish. RC graphics are already assertive, and a restrained cockpit component keeps the visual weight where MV put it rather than adding to it.
