Most bar-end mirrors are bought for a bike that already has a broken one. On a small naked that has been dropped at some point — which is most of them — the mirrors are the cheapest visible thing to put right.

The Usual Reason for Buying One
It is worth saying plainly: this is a repair as often as an upgrade. Because the mirror is symmetrical, a replacement for one side is the same part number as a pair, which removes the commonest ordering mistake.

The bar end is a sturdier place to hang a mirror than a plastic perch boss. The next time the bike goes over, the load goes into the handlebar along its inner wall rather than into a moulding.
