DescriptionThe whole story▼
This is the one part in the Diavel V4 range that does something rather than cover something. The caliper coolers are ducts: they sit ahead of the front brake calipers and direct airflow onto them, which is a technique borrowed directly from racing and one the Diavel V4 has more use for than its looks suggest.
Key Features
- Pair of air ducts for the front brake calipers, supplied as a set
- Four configurations in 200 Plain: clear coat, matt, satin and raw
- Directs airflow onto the caliper bodies to help manage temperature under repeated heavy braking
- Mounts on the caliper bolts, no additional brackets required
- Carbon is dimensionally stable at the temperatures found next to a hot caliper
Why a Heavy Motorcycle Benefits
Brake fade is a function of energy, and energy is a function of mass and speed. A Diavel V4 carrying over 230 kilograms dry plus rider converts a great deal of it into heat on a descent, and heat that stays in the caliper is heat that eventually reaches the fluid. Ducted air is the simplest intervention: it does not change the brake system, it just helps the caliper shed what it absorbs.
Be realistic about the magnitude. On a single hard stop from road speeds this makes no measurable difference. Over a long alpine descent, or on a track day, the difference is real and is the reason the parts exist. Nobody should fit them expecting a shorter stopping distance.
Fitment and Compatibility
Ducati Diavel V4, 2023 to 2026, on the standard front calipers. Set of two. Torque the caliper bolts to the workshop figure after fitting — these are brake fasteners and are not a place for judgement.
Road Approval
Fullsix publishes neither an ABE nor an EC type-approval for this set. Parts mounted to the brake system attract particular attention in a technical inspection, and this is the one part in the range where confirming the position for your registration before road use is genuinely important rather than routine.
Not a Substitute for Fluid Changes
A word of caution that belongs on this listing more than on any other. Caliper coolers help a caliper shed heat; they do nothing about brake fluid that has absorbed moisture over two years and boils lower as a result. If the brakes on a Diavel V4 have ever felt long after a descent, fresh fluid is the first intervention and these are the second.
Fitted to a system in good order they are a genuine improvement under sustained use. Fitted to mask a fluid problem, they will disappoint — and the underlying issue is the one that matters.
