DescriptionThe whole story

Three generations of Tiger take the same footpegs: the 800 XC that ran until 2020, the 900 in every version Triumph builds, and the 1200 GT and Rally. Triumph has kept the peg interface constant while changing almost everything else about the bikes.

Key Features

  • Cast in one piece from Grade 5 titanium in Akrapovic's own foundry
  • Octagonal profile with a Y-shaped reinforcement
  • Central teeth spreading load across a wide surface
  • Developed and tested in real riding conditions
  • A pair of rubber pads included, fitted without tools
  • Fits the Tiger 800, 850, 900 and 1200 families
  • The original mounting hardware must be reused

Rally, Pro or GT — All the Same

Triumph splits the Tiger 900 into GT, GT Pro, Rally and Rally Pro, with different wheels, suspension travel and rider aids. The differences are substantial to ride and irrelevant to this part: all four take the same set.

The same is true across the family. A Tiger 800 XC from 2011 and a Tiger 1200 Rally from 2025 are barely the same kind of motorcycle any more, and they still share a footpeg mount.

Made for Standing Up

Akrapovic designed these with standing and heel-down riding in mind. That is the position a Tiger Rally rider spends real time in — weight forward on the pegs, boots angled down, controlling the bike through the feet rather than the bars.

A wide platform with teeth in the middle is what makes that sustainable over a long day. A narrow standard peg concentrates the load into one line across the arch of the foot.

Casting, Not Billet

A cast titanium peg puts material where the stress is and leaves it out everywhere else — something a machined billet part cannot do without a great deal of waste. Akrapovic runs its own foundry, which is why a company known for exhausts can make this part at all.

Two Surfaces in One Set

The teeth are aggressive by design and unpleasant over a long tarmac transit. The rubber pads in the box change the character completely and go on without tools, so the same pegs work for the road ride out and the trail at the end of it.

Fitting Notice

The original mounting hardware must be reused. Keep the pins and clips from the standard pegs when you take them off.

The Tiger 800 XC Is the Oldest Bike Here

Triumph launched the Tiger 800 XC in 2011, and machines from that first year are now fifteen years old. They are also, for the same reason, the ones most likely to have worn or bent standard pegs — a decade and a half of boots, mud and the occasional drop takes a visible toll.

On a bike at that age the calculation is straightforward: a titanium set costs a fraction of what the motorcycle is worth and will outlast it comfortably.

Octagonal, and Why

The eight-sided profile is not decoration. A round peg rotates under load and a square one has corners that catch; an octagon gives eight flat bearing surfaces for a boot sole to find at any angle the foot happens to be at.

Combined with the teeth in the centre, it means the foot locates itself without the rider having to look down.
