DescriptionThe whole story▼
Gravel access roads to campsites, wet mountain passes and long days in the rain are all part of touring on a Kawasaki Versys 1000. Accossato lists the AGPP88 rear pad in the Sintered mixture for the Versys 1000 from 2012 to 2024, including ABS versions and the LT of 2015 to 2016. It suits riders who travel in all conditions and want the rear brake to stay predictable when it is wet, cold or covered in road grime.

Construction and Material Quality
Accossato's promise for this recipe is a high friction level that stays even across temperatures, together with good wet performance. At the back of a Versys 1000 on a long tour, that consistency helps on wet descents and gravel stretches, where the rider wants to slow the bike gently without upsetting it. Accossato states that its pads limit fade by containing heat. The sintered block is fixed to the standard AGPP88 plate.
Loose Surfaces and Wet Descents
On a gravel road, the front brake has to be used gently, and the rear becomes the main tool for controlling speed. A pad that grips consistently lets the rider modulate it precisely without locking the wheel. On wet descents, the same predictability helps keep the bike stable before each bend.
After a trip on dusty or muddy roads, clean the rear caliper and check the pads for uneven wear. Look at the disc for scoring from grit. Change the fluid every couple of years, and more often if the bike is used heavily in wet conditions.
Fitment and Compatibility
For the rear of the Versys 1000 from 2012 to 2024, Accossato lists AGPP88, covering the ABS models and the LT version of 2015 to 2016. At the front, AGPA75 covers 2012 to 2021 and AGPA109 covers 2019 to 2024. Our data holds no Accossato disc for this model. One box is enough for the single rear caliper; compare with your used pads first.
Road Approval
AGPP88ST comes without an ABE or German approval document that we could provide. It is intended for track use.
