DescriptionThe whole story▼
The Yamaha Niken GT took the three-wheeled machine of 2018 and pointed it at distance riding, and from 2019 it is the version most owners chose. People who ride a long way in a day develop strong opinions about stops: how many, how long, and what gets done at each one. For the Niken GT of 2019 to 2023, Accossato offers the FC124: an aluminium tank cap with a quick-acting closure and a pin that can be had in one of six shades.
Key Features
- Quick-release fuel tank cap for the Yamaha Niken GT, 2019 to 2023
- Listed by Accossato as MXT 850 Niken GT
- Machined completely from aluminium on CNC equipment
- Quick-closing pawl for opening and shutting the tank
- Pin colours: blue, green, black, red, silver, gold
- Replacement pawl sold on its own
- Confirm the fit against the application list
- No German ABE documented; supplied for track use
Construction and Material Quality
Cut from aluminium on CNC machinery and nothing besides, the FC124 is put forward by its maker as a tough, long-lived part, and the shape is newly drawn. In use it comes down to the quick-closing pawl, which frees the Niken GT's tank with one movement and secures it with another. The coloured pin inside that pawl is specified at the time of ordering, from blue, green, black, red, silver and gold. Since the pawl is kept in the catalogue as an individual spare, damage to it means a small order rather than a second cap.
Short Stops on a Long Day
Riders who cover distance learn to combine jobs. The stop where the tank is filled is also the stop where the visor gets cleaned, the gloves come off for a few minutes and somebody checks the route. What nobody wants is for the stop to grow: five minutes becomes fifteen, and on a day with a fixed arrival time that adds up. Anything that shortens the mechanical part of the break is welcome, which is the practical case for a cap that opens with one pull. It applies just as well when the Niken GT is being used at a closed-course training day, where the breaks are set by a timetable and the useful part of them is the talking, not the fuel.
Fitment and Compatibility
The entry behind this listing is the MXT 850 Niken GT for 2019 to 2023; the 2018 machine has a line of its own. Our shop puts the same reference under the MT-09, the MT-09 SP and the FJR1300 as well. Please match the details of your machine with the application list before you order.
Road Approval
No German ABE and no parts certificate are documented for the FC124, which limits it to closed circuits. The Niken GT keeps its factory cap for the road, normally opened with the ignition key.
