DescriptionThe whole story▼
The Honda CBR650F arrived for 2014 as a fully faired four-cylinder middleweight with a comfortable, less crouched riding position, a bike that commutes in the week and still enjoys a circuit now and then. Owners who ride only a few track days a season face a small problem that frequent racers never have: the fuel can sits in the garage for months between events. Accossato's cap for the CBR650F from 2014 to 2018 is the FC125, machined from solid aluminium and fitted with a quick-closing pawl and a pin in one of six colours.
Key Features
- Quick-release fuel tank cap for the Honda CBR650F, 2014 to 2018
- Made completely of CNC-machined aluminium
- Quick-closing pawl for opening and closing without delay
- Pin colours: blue, green, black, red, silver, gold
- Pawl available on its own as a spare
- Robust and durable according to Accossato; new design
- No German ABE documented; for use on closed circuits
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato mills the FC125 from aluminium on CNC machines, and the body contains no other material; the company describes the result as robust and durable. It is also newly designed. The quick-closing pawl opens the tank of the CBR650F quickly and closes it again in moments, and the pin on that pawl can be ordered in six colours. If the pawl is ever damaged, Accossato offers it as a separate part, so the cap does not have to be replaced.
Fuel That Has Waited Too Long
Petrol does not keep for ever. Stored for months in a can that is opened now and then, it loses some of its lighter parts, starts to smell stale and can leave an engine reluctant to start or running unevenly. That matters on a track day, where you want the CBR650F to behave exactly as it did the last time. Riders who go to the circuit only a few times a year avoid the problem with a simple habit: fill the can shortly before each event, write the date on it, and use up what is left in the bike on the road rather than saving it for next season. Keep cans closed, upright and away from heat and direct sun, in a ventilated place and never in the house. At the circuit, pour through a clean funnel so no dirt from the bottom of the can reaches the tank, close the pawl, and check the cap by hand before you ride out.
Fitment and Compatibility
The CBR 650 F is covered by one entry on the application list, running from 2014 to 2018. Please match your bike's year to the list before ordering. With us, the same cap is also listed for the CB650F, the CBR650R and the CB1100.
Road Approval
No German ABE or parts certificate is on record for this cap, which limits it to circuit use. The CBR650F's standard cap normally opens with the ignition key; keep that one for the road.
