DescriptionThe whole story▼
Enduro riding in a group has hazards of its own. On a narrow climb the rider in front stalls, and everyone behind has to stop wherever they happen to be: on loose ground, pointing uphill, with the front brake holding the bike in place. A Suzuki RMX450Z is a big enduro to hold still on a slope, and a small misjudgement can tip it over. Accossato's B8306 is a folding front brake lever for the RMX450Z from 2010 to 2017, CNC-machined in Italy from Ergal 7075, with a blade that can fold forward on a joint rather than break.

Construction and Material Quality
Accossato, whose racing record includes an enduro world title in 1985, makes the B8306 from a solid block of Ergal 7075, milled on CNC machines at its Italian base. The alloy's high strength serves the company's declared aims: a lever that is strong, light and reliable. It consists of a dark base fitted to the master cylinder's pivot and a black or gold blade hinged to it so that it can fold. On the brake side the blade is kept short and made for three fingers.
When the Group Stops on a Climb
Anyone who rides in a group knows the concertina effect. On an open trail the riders spread out, but at the foot of a steep or technical climb they bunch up, and when the leader loses momentum and stops, the next riders have to stop too, often in the worst possible place. On an RMX450Z the drill is to use enough front brake to hold the bike, get a foot onto the most solid ground available and wait with the engine running and the clutch in. Losing balance at that moment, facing uphill on loose stones, is one of the commonest ways to drop an enduro bike without really crashing it.
If the bike tips to the right, the brake lever ends up between the machine and the slope. With the B8306, the joint gives the blade the option of folding forward instead of breaking under that weight, so once the RMX450Z is back on its wheels there is a good chance the lever still works. Holding a bike on a steep slope without a front brake is miserable, and restarting the climb without one is worse. A folding lever cannot promise to survive every tip-over, but it makes it more likely that the group moves on together once the climb has been cleared.
Fitment and Compatibility
The Suzuki RMX450Z is listed from 2010 to 2017 for the B8306, which goes onto the original front brake master cylinder as a straight swap for the stock lever. On the other side of the bar, the C7306 folding clutch lever covers the same model years. Accossato makes both in black and gold only; either colour gives a matching pair.
Road Approval
The B8306 has no documented German ABE. If your RMX450Z is registered for road use, it is not approved for public roads with this lever fitted; the lever is intended for off-road riding and competition.
