Size chart MT Helmets Stinger 2
| Size | Head circumference (cm) | Head circumference (inch) |
|---|---|---|
| XXS | 51–52 cm | 20.1–20.5 in |
| XS | 53–54 cm | 20.9–21.3 in |
| S | 55–56 cm | 21.7–22.0 in |
| M | 57–58 cm | 22.4–22.8 in |
| L | 59–60 cm | 23.2–23.6 in |
| XL | 61–62 cm | 24.0–24.4 in |
| XXL | 63–64 cm | 24.8–25.2 in |
| XXXL | 65–66 cm | 25.6–26.0 in |

How to measure your helmet size correctly: Measure your head circumference with a flexible tape around the widest part of the head, about 1–2 cm above the eyebrows. Measure 2–3 times and compare with the chart. Between sizes, usually choose the larger size.
Important note on fit
The right helmet should fit firmly without uncomfortable pressure points. A new helmet may feel a little tighter at first, as the inner lining adapts slightly over time.

White shell, graphite panels, and a run of fluorescent yellow flashes stepping down the flank with BALDUR and KINETIC lettered along them. At €114.95 list the Stinger 2 is the cheapest full-face we stock that meets ECE 22.06, and this is its most visible version.
Where the fluorescent sits, and why that matters
The yellow runs along the lower half of the shell and across the chin bar — not over the crown, which is where most manufacturers put it.
That is the correct placement, and not for looks. A driver waiting at a side road sees you at roughly their own eye height, through a windscreen and past an A-pillar: at the level of your jaw and shoulders. The top of a helmet is frequently the part they never see at all. Bright colour at the base of the shell sits in the band of vision that is actually used, and it is moving against the background — which is what triggers detection in peripheral vision far more reliably than brightness alone.
Fluorescent pigments absorb ultraviolet and re-emit it as visible light, so they return more visible energy than falls on them. That is why they appear to glow on an overcast day — precisely the conditions in which a motorcycle is hardest to pick out.
And the limit: there is no UV at night, so fluorescence does nothing after dark. Retroreflective material on your jacket does the night-time work. A paint scheme does the daylight work, and the two are not interchangeable.
What €114.95 buys, and what it does not
The Stinger 2 clears ECE 22.06 on a HIRP shell at around 1,600 g, with the patented MT-QVSS tool-free visor mechanism, a hypoallergenic removable and washable lining, an MT-MDTC double-teeth closure and a slot for a universal UCS intercom.
What it does not have is a sun visor, a spoiler, a Pinlock in the box or a DOT marking. Those omissions are how the price is reached — not a compromise in the shell or in the standard it clears, which is the part that actually protects you.
No sun visor
There is no drop-down shade. Know that before ordering: there is no slider behind the brow, and the only route to a tint is a second screen — a smoked MT-V-28B, which swaps in seconds thanks to MT-QVSS but has to be with you.
ECE 22.06 · no DOT
Mandatory across Europe since January 2024. Against the 22.05 it replaced: 18 impact points instead of five, several impact speeds, an oblique impact against an abrasive anvil that measures rotational loading, and a Brain Injury Criterion ceiling. No DOT marking is published for the Stinger 2.
Where it sits in our MT range
Above the Stinger 2 sits the Targo S, which adds little but a different shell and a slightly higher price; then the Braker SV, which adds a drop-down sun visor, a spoiler and a nose deflector; then the Thunder 4 R SV, which supplies a Pinlock and goes to 3XL.
The honest question is what you actually want. If you ride in daylight in summer, the Stinger 2 clears the same legal standard as the Thunder for roughly half the money. If you commute year-round, the sun visor and the Pinlock further up the range are what you will use every single week.
MT-QVSS
The screen releases with two buttons, in gloves, with no tools. On a helmet without an internal shade this mechanism is not a convenience — it is what makes carrying a second screen a realistic plan rather than a chore you will abandon by March.
Anti-fog
The MT-V-28B is prepared for Pinlock DKS435. The insert is not supplied. If you ride below about 5 °C, budget for it: ventilation only clears a visor while you are moving, and a fogged screen in a traffic queue is exactly when it matters.
Interior
The lining is hypoallergenic, removable and washable, with space for a universal UCS intercom's speakers.
Hypoallergenic is not marketing on a helmet at this price — it is the class of helmet most often bought as a first one, worn without a balaclava, and washed a good deal less often than it ought to be. A lining you can take out is a lining that actually gets cleaned.
What conspicuity actually buys, honestly
Bright clothing and a bright helmet measurably reduce the chance of being missed at a junction. That is a real effect, and it is why we bother describing where the yellow sits.
It is also a smaller effect than road position, speed and covering the brakes. A driver who has not looked will not see you in any colour, and a helmet cannot compensate for approaching a blind junction at a speed that leaves no options. Treat a bright helmet as one of several things that stack — not as the thing that makes you safe.
The Baldur design across the range
MT applies the Baldur graphic to several colourways: the same stepped flashes and the same BALDUR and KINETIC lettering, on grounds ranging from this white through to matt graphite.
If you are choosing between them, the pattern is not the variable — the ground is. On white the flashes read as decoration; on a dark ground they read as an accent, and the same helmet becomes considerably more sober. This one is the version that has been designed to be seen.
What it does not have
- No sun visor.
- No DOT marking published.
- No safety rating. SHARP has not tested the Stinger 2; no ADAC or Snell result exists.
- Fluorescent paint fades in prolonged sun — the mechanism that makes it glow also consumes it. Store it in its bag.
In the box
