DescriptionThe whole story▼

Accossato also makes the rear pad for the KTM 690 Duke, 2008 to 2019, in STMX, its Off-road sintered compound. Accossato describes STMX as its compound for off-road riders. On a roadster that sounds unusual, but some owners take their 690 Duke onto gravel roads, farm tracks and dusty unpaved passes, or build it into a scrambler-style bike. For that kind of riding, where dust and grit reach the rear caliper, STMX is the version made with dirt in mind. For pure tarmac use the other compounds are the more obvious choice.

Key Features

  • STMX compound for the rear of the KTM 690 Duke
  • Fits the 690 Duke from 2008 to 2019
  • Accossato's compound for off-road riders
  • For gravel roads, dusty passes and scrambler builds
  • Designed to resist fading and wear slowly
  • Two pads for the single rear caliper
  • The rear pad is also sold as OR and ST

Construction and Material Quality

STMX is Accossato's compound for riding off the tarmac. The brand designs its pads for strong braking, low wear and limited heat, and this rear version brings those aims to the 690 Duke. The friction material sits on a steel back plate shaped for the rear caliper.

A Roadster on Gravel

Unpaved alpine passes, forest tracks and dusty farm roads are popular with riders who like to explore, and a light single such as the 690 Duke handles them surprisingly well. On loose surfaces the rear brake is used more than the front, and grit gets everywhere. STMX is intended for that environment. If your Duke never leaves the tarmac, choose OR for daily use or ST for all-weather riding.

Cleaning After a Dusty Ride

Rinse dust from the rear caliper, check the pad guides move freely and inspect the disc for scoring before the next ride. Grit trapped behind a pad is the main cause of uneven wear on a bike used this way.

Fitment and Compatibility

This STMX pad fits the rear caliper of the KTM 690 Duke from 2008 to 2019, in both versions listed by Accossato: DUKE 690 (2008-2011) and DUKE 690 (2012-2019) ABS. One box does the rear. Accossato's front pad AGPA96 covers only the 2012 to 2019 ABS bikes.

Road Approval

No German ABE or test certificate is available to us for this pad, so it is offered for racing and competition.

Scope of Delivery

Two STMX rear pads for the KTM 690 Duke in a single box.
