DescriptionThe whole story▼

The air-cooled Triumph Scrambler feels most at home on narrow roads: single-track lanes between hedges, village streets, a blind crest with a tractor somewhere behind it. Its wide bars and upright seat make it easy to place, and on such roads the front brake is used constantly and lightly, a touch before every bend you cannot see around. Accossato offers the EDF014 for this bike, a CNC-machined aluminium brake lever for the 2006 to 2016 Scrambler 900 with an adjustable reach and three blade lengths.

Key Features

  • Front brake lever for the Triumph Scrambler 900, 2006 to 2016
  • Fits the original master cylinder
  • Reach adjustable at the hub
  • Standard blade approximately 138 mm in all colours
  • Short and long blades in selected colours
  • Machined aluminium, anodised, with a black hub
  • Rigid one-piece design

Construction and Material Quality

Machined on CNC equipment from aluminium, the EDF014 is anodised in two colours. Accossato finishes the hub in black on every lever, while the blade is black, silver, gold, blue, green, orange or red. The hub contains the pivot and the adjuster that sets the distance to the grip. The blade is fixed, without the joint of a folding lever, and it is machined all over, so its edges are even and its surface smooth where the fingers slide on and off it all day.

Narrow Lanes and Blind Bends

On a lane where you cannot see the exit of the next corner, the brake is a way of setting speed early rather than a way of stopping. The fingers rest on the lever, add a little pressure, release and repeat, often dozens of times in a few kilometres. That rhythm becomes tiring if the lever sits too far away and the hand has to open wide every time. With the EDF014's adjuster, the blade comes close enough for the fingers to rest on it while the palm keeps a relaxed hold of grip and throttle. The Scrambler's wide handlebar gives plenty of leverage for steering, and the brake lever should be just as easy to use. For this kind of riding, many riders prefer the standard length, about 138 mm, which exists in every colour. A short blade, made in blue, silver, orange, gold and green, suits two-finger braking, with the ring and little fingers staying around the throttle grip.

Fitment and Compatibility

Accossato lists the EDF014 for the Scrambler 900 from 2006 to 2016, the air-cooled model with the high-level exhaust. It mounts on the original master cylinder and replaces the stock lever. The matching clutch lever for the same Scrambler is the EST333, also listed for 2006 to 2016, while the later Scrambler 1200 models use different Accossato levers. If your Scrambler has been fitted with different bars or aftermarket controls, compare the master cylinder with the product photos.

Road Approval

This lever lacks a documented German ABE, so we sell it for track use.
