DescriptionThe whole story▼
An RSV4 1100 Factory at 1077 cc carries enough speed that an unplanned brake input ends the session. That is the job of the ISS200RT: a 132 mm guard length GC-Tech guard that stops the brake lever of the RSV4 1100 Factory being squeezed. Bush colour is a choice of 7 on the RSV4 1100 Factory; see the specifications for the range. On a 1077 cc machine like the RSV4 1100 Factory it is the least expensive insurance available.
Key Features
- The polymer absorbs rather than transmits, unlike a rigid guard
- Original RSV4 1100 Factory controls stay exactly where they are
- Supplied with the instructions the RSV4 1100 Factory fitting needs
- Meets the lever-guard requirement most track organisers apply to the RSV4 1100 Factory
- 7 bush colours, all at the same price
- The ISS200RT is a stock item, not a special order
The Failure It Stops
A brake lever guard has one job, and it is not cosmetic. LighTech builds the ISS200RT from a polymer filled with carbon and graphite rather than from aluminium. Most track organisers will not let an RSV4 1100 Factory onto the circuit without one.
Fitment and Compatibility
LighTech lists the ISS200RT for the Aprilia RSV4 1100 Factory. Fitting needs the correct adapter for the RSV4 1100 Factory — see the note below.
Scope of Delivery
The ISS200RT comes as a single side; order twice for the whole handlebar. Bushes are part of the guard; the adapter for the RSV4 1100 Factory is the value chosen under “Adapter”. If the RSV4 1100 Factory needs a replacement later, nothing else has to come off.
Fitting
Allow a quarter of an hour per side on the RSV4 1100 Factory the first time. Check full steering lock on the RSV4 1100 Factory before you ride — the guard must not touch the tank or screen. Instructions are in the box; the RSV4 1100 Factory needs no modification.
Before You Order
There is a second part number involved in fitting the ISS200RT. It mounts to the RSV4 1100 Factory through a bar-specific adapter, because handlebar internal diameters differ between models. Leave the “Adapter” option on “With Adapter KPL303” — that is the adapter for the RSV4 1100 Factory, ordered in the same step. Owners of a spare KPL303 can pick “Without Adapter” instead.
Regulations and Road Use
On track the brake lever guard is usually not optional. We list the ISS200RT without an approval claim because LighTech issues none. Check your own series regulations for the exact requirement; they differ.
