Direct Damping System — How It Works
Unlike conventional cartridge systems, K-Tech's DDS architecture separates the compression and rebound circuits completely, allowing each to be tuned independently without cross-influence. The combination of the 20 mm working piston and the 31 mm control piston produces an exceptionally smooth, well-managed oil flow path that resists fade and aeration during repeated hard braking and high-speed compression cycles. The result is a fork that tracks the road surface accurately and inspires confidence through corners, whether on a race circuit or a demanding mountain road.
Adjustability and Setup
K-Tech supplies recommended baseline settings so you can start riding immediately and dial in from there. Suggested starting points are 16 clicks of compression, 18 clicks of rebound, a 10 mm preload setting, and an oil/air gap of 185 mm. Total stroke is 125 mm. These figures give a solid foundation that most Panigale 959 riders can fine-tune to their own preference without specialist equipment, while still leaving ample range for professional setup at the track.
