DescriptionThe whole story▼
The Brutale 1000 makes over 200 hp from a naked chassis. The JP ACS 060 replaces its throttle housing with a milled Ergal unit and a shorter cam.
Key Features
- MV Agusta Brutale 1000 (2019–2022)
- Machined from a single block of Ergal 7075
- Short-stroke throttle cam
- Black anodised
- No lettering on the housing
- Uses the original throttle cables
Two Hundred and Eight Horsepower, No Fairing
MV took the F4's four-cylinder engine, revised it thoroughly and put it in the Brutale chassis with winglets and no bodywork. The result is the most powerful naked motorcycle anyone was selling at the time and one of the least apologetic machines ever built.
Serie Oro and RR
The first run was the Serie Oro: carbon wheels, titanium fasteners, 300 examples, sold out before delivery. The RR that followed was the production version, and it is the one most owners actually have. They share this housing.
Throttle Control at This Output
On an engine making this much power with nothing to blunt it, the relationship between the wrist and the throttle bodies matters more than on almost anything else. A shorter cam is not about speed; it is about how precisely the rider can meter what is available.
Cable Operation
The conversion is mechanical, using the motorcycle's own cables. Nothing electrical is touched, which on a bike with this many rider aids is worth knowing: the electronics see exactly what they saw before.
Machined From Solid
Ergal 7075 cut from a billet rather than cast. The precision with which the tube runs in the body is what the rider feels at small throttle openings, and it is where a machined component earns its cost on a motorcycle like this.
Unmarked
No lettering on the flank. On a Brutale 1000, which already carries winglets, exposed trellis tubes and a great deal of visual incident, an unmarked component is generally the right decision.
