DescriptionThe whole story▼

For a 2026 R7 with a MECTRONIK dashboard, the JP SPD MK900 is the right-hand SuperSport switch.

Key Features

  • Yamaha R7 (2026)
  • Requires a MECTRONIK dashboard
  • Universal hole pattern for either master cylinder
  • CNC-milled Ergal 7075
  • Sealed switch elements
  • Racing loom required

A Cup Bike With Professional Electronics

Fitting a MECTRONIK system to an R7 costs a meaningful fraction of the motorcycle's value. Riders in one-make series do it anyway, because on identical machines the only remaining variables are the rider and what they can learn between sessions.

The 2026 Loom

Yamaha revised the R7's electrics for 2026, which is why this part is listed separately from the one covering the earlier bike. They are visually close and electrically distinct.

Universal Clamp Holes

The plate accepts either master cylinder geometry. The front brake is the most commonly changed component on a racing R7, and this keeps the switch out of that decision entirely.

Shared With the R9

The same part number covers the R9, which reflects how consistently Yamaha has kept its handlebar interface across two quite different sports bikes. It is convenient for a team running both.

The Racing Harness

Yamaha's standard wiring will not drive this switch. The loom has to be replaced, which removes the lighting and indicator circuits and is the substantial part of the job.

Sealed Construction

Contacts sealed inside a one-piece milled body. Cup machines are washed hot after every outing and transported damp, which is what ends switchgear rather than the number of presses.

Black Anodised

A single finish, converted into the surface rather than applied on top. On a bike wearing a number board it draws no attention, which is the point.

Two Bikes, One Interface

Yamaha kept the handlebar architecture common between the R7 and the R9 despite the engines and chassis being entirely different. For a team running both across a season that is a genuine convenience.

Check Before Ordering

Two conditions have to be met: the 2026 loom and a MECTRONIK dashboard. Neither is visible from a photograph, and both decide whether this part functions at all.
