DescriptionThe whole story▼
The Z1000 of 2014 to 2020, with its aggressive styling and a strong 1043 cc four, is a naked bike that likes to be ridden hard on country roads. This VCR38GT rearset for the Kawasaki Z1000 moves the pegs to where a sporting rider wants them, adjustable steplessly and fixed with a single screw.
Key Features
- Built for the standard shift pattern
- Integrated micro switch for the brake light
- Roller on the shift lever for lighter gear changes
- Carbon fibre heel protection
- Folding footpegs, as the road approval requires
- Road legal in Germany under ABE No. KBA 90982
Shifting with less effort
The shift lever of this system carries a small roller that reduces the effort of each gear change, and it pivots on double ball bearings. On a naked four that is shifted often on twisty roads, that makes a noticeable difference over a day. The standard shift pattern is used.
Brake light included
An integrated micro switch operates the brake light, so the conversion keeps the Z1000 fully roadworthy. The system comes with folding pegs; the product photos show optional rigid pegs from the Gilles accessory range.
Road Approval
On the Kawasaki Z1000 this rearset is approved under ABE No. KBA 90982. Nothing needs entering in the papers; the certificate asks only that the fitting instructions are followed. Print it from this page before the first ride.
Scope of Delivery
You receive the full system for both sides, meaning adapter plates, peg carriers with folding footpegs, brake pedal, shift lever with linkage and carbon fibre heel protection. The fitting instructions and the ABE certificate are part of the set. Note that the product photos show optional rigid pegs from the Gilles accessory range; the system itself is supplied with folding pegs.
