DescriptionThe whole story▼
This is a shock absorber bracket, not an exhaust bracket. Akrapovic's Evolution Line for the supercharged Ninja H2 runs where the standard shock mount sits, and the only way to fit the system is to relocate that mount. Very few exhausts in any catalogue ask that much of a motorcycle.
Key Features
- Relocates the shock absorber mount, not the silencer
- Mandatory for the Evolution Line (Carbon) S-K10E3-HX2C
- For the 2017 model year Ninja H2 and H2R
- That Evolution Line is not in the current price list
- Not needed for any other Akrapovic system on this machine
An Exhaust That Moves the Suspension
Most complete systems work around the chassis. This one does not: the Evolution Line's routing on the H2 occupies space the shock mount was using, and Akrapovic supplies a bracket that puts the mount somewhere else.
That is an unusually deep intervention, and it is a fair measure of how tightly packed a supercharged 998 cc Kawasaki is. It also means the bracket is not optional in any sense — without it the system does not go on.
Check the System Number First
Akrapovic names S-K10E3-HX2C, and that Evolution Line does not appear in the price list this shop buys from. As with several accessories in this range, the description is written against the full historical catalogue.
Before ordering, confirm with the distributor which Akrapovic system is on or going onto the motorcycle and whether this bracket belongs to it. On a part that alters suspension mounting, assuming is not an option.
One Model Year
Akrapovic's own note is specific: the bracket is mandatory for fitting that system on 2017 model year machines. The fitment data runs to 2020, and the description names 2017.
Where the manufacturer's text and its fitment table differ, the safe reading is the narrower one. Ask before ordering for a 2018 or later H2.
The H2 and the H2R
The road-legal H2 and the track-only H2R share the supercharged engine and the chassis architecture. Akrapovic lists the bracket for both, which follows from the shared subframe and shock mounting.
Suspension Hardware Deserves a Workshop
A shock absorber mount carries the full load of the rear suspension. This is not a part to fit by eye or to guess a torque figure on, and it is worth having done by someone who will check the setting afterwards.
What Supercharging Costs in Space
The H2 carries a supercharger, its intake plenum and the ducting between them in a chassis sized for a litre superbike. Everything else has to move over, and the exhaust routing on a full system ends up in places a naturally aspirated bike would never need.
A bracket that relocates a suspension mount is the visible end of that problem, and it is the reason this part exists at all.
Not a Performance Part
The bracket adds nothing on its own. It exists so that a system that does add something can physically be installed.
Road Approval
Not applicable. A bracket carries no emissions or noise approval, and the Evolution Line it serves is a competition system in any case.
