DescriptionThe whole story▼
On an older Kawasaki KX450F, the rear brake is often the part that has been neglected longest. Accossato's AGPP106 rear pad in the Organic mixture fits the KX450F from 2006 to 2018. It is intended for riders who use their bike for training, family riding or relaxed club outings and want a rear pedal that feels soft and predictable, with long pad life and little wear on the disc.
Key Features
- Rear pads AGPP106 for the Kawasaki KX450F, 2006 to 2018
- Organic mixture, SKU AGPP106OR
- Accossato: long-lasting and gentle on the disc
- Soft, easily controlled pedal
- Good for training and relaxed riding
- Also produced as ST and STMX
- No ABE on file; for racing
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato describes this compound as durable and kind to the rotor. For the rear of a KX450F that is ridden regularly but not raced hard, that is the right balance: the pads last a long time, and the rear disc stays in good condition. Accossato designs all its pads to control heat and fade while stopping firmly. The organic material sits on the standard AGPP106 plate.
Reviving a Neglected Rear Brake
A rear brake that has been ignored for a few seasons often has a sticky caliper, old fluid and a disc with a lip around its edge. Before fitting new pads, clean the pistons carefully, check that the caliper slides freely and look at the disc for wear. A lipped or grooved disc should be replaced.
Flush the rear system with fresh fluid, pump the pedal until it feels firm and bed the pads in with some gentle stops. The Organic set gives an older KX450F a soft, predictable rear that suits steady riding and helps less experienced riders learn to use the back brake properly.
Fitment and Compatibility
On the KX450F, this rear pad is catalogued by Accossato for model years 2006 up to 2018; later bikes are not covered by this listing. Up front, Accossato's reference is AGPA51, which runs from 2006 to 2022. DK060 is the disc Accossato lists for the model. A single box holds everything needed for the one rear caliper. If the bike has had a previous owner, compare pad shapes, as parts are sometimes swapped over the years.
Road Approval
AGPP106OR has no ABE or German approval document in our possession. It is sold for competition.
