DescriptionThe whole story▼
Fitted with the GR006 two-tone grip, the MY008 is Accossato's quick throttle control for the Kawasaki Ninja 400 (2018–2024). Where the single-shade GR001 draws on one eight-colour range, GR006 splits grip colour into five separate two-tone combinations, kept apart from the cap finish. Two CNC-machined aluminium halves make up the housing, supplied with the ZX013 cable set built for this model and three internal cams of 40, 43 and 45 mm.
Key Features
- Two-piece CNC-machined aluminium throttle housing
- GR006 two-tone racing grip, five colour combinations
- Eight anodised cap colour options
- Accossato ZX013 cable set specific to the Kawasaki Ninja 400
- Three interchangeable internal cams (40, 43, 45 mm)
- Adjustable throttle response and rotation stroke
- Made in Italy, checked before being placed on the market
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato CNC-machines the housing in two aluminium halves, anodised across eight cap colours as with every kit in this range. GR006 sits apart from that cap range with its own five two-tone combinations, chosen independently when the grip is ordered. The throttle's actual behaviour comes down to which of the three supplied cams, 40, 43 or 45 mm, ends up fitted inside the housing, not to the colours on show outside it, and swapping between them needs nothing beyond opening the housing cover itself.
A Racier Look on an A2-Class Bike
Riders on the Ninja 400 are often working within the power limits of an A2 licence, which caps what the engine can do but leaves plenty of room to change how the bike looks and how its controls feel. A two-tone racing grip is a visible, track-style detail that a learner-legal bike can carry without any work done to the engine, and the five GR006 combinations give more scope to match the rest of the bike's graphics than a single-shade grip allows. For a rider who has customised the bodywork with stickers or a wrap, matching the throttle grip to that scheme is one of the few mechanical parts that doubles as decoration.
Fitment and Compatibility
This kit is listed by Accossato for the Kawasaki Ninja 400 (2018–2024), using the ZX013 cable set cut to this model's routing; exact production years are shown in the Fitment tab on this page. The ZX013 cable does not interchange with the cable sets listed for Kawasaki's larger ZX-6R or ZX-10 R models.
Road Approval
There is no ABE or parts certificate documented by Accossato for the MY008; registration rules depend on the country, so check before road use. As with any throttle control, make sure the grip returns on its own to the idle position once fitted.
