DescriptionThe whole story▼
When Triumph put a three-cylinder engine into a supersport chassis in 2006, the Daytona 675 became the machine that everyone else in the class had to answer. Many of them are now second, third or fourth-hand, bought for track use with a history that nobody can fully account for. That changes the questions an owner asks about parts. Accossato lists the Daytona 675 for the FC101, a quick-release fuel tank cap machined from aluminium, with the pawl offered in six colours.
Key Features
- Quick-release fuel tank cap for the Triumph Daytona 675, 2006 to 2018
- Machined completely from aluminium on CNC equipment
- Quick-closing pawl for opening and shutting the tank quickly
- Six colours for the pin: blue, green, black, red, silver, gold
- Pawl available separately as a spare
- New design from Accossato
- Confirm the fit against the application list
- No German ABE documented; supplied for the circuit
Construction and Material Quality
The body of the FC101 is aluminium and only aluminium, machined on CNC equipment, which Accossato considers the basis of a robust and durable part; the design is new. Its quick-closing pawl takes the place of the usual arrangement, so the Daytona's tank is open for a matter of seconds rather than a matter of fumbling. The pin inside the pawl provides the colour, one of six, decided at the time of ordering. Accossato also lists that pawl as a spare, which means a damaged one does not put the whole cap out of service.
A Replacement, Not an Upgrade
Aftermarket parts are usually sold as improvements, but a fair share of them are bought for a duller reason: the original is worn out. On a machine of this age the area around the filler has often had a hard life. Fuel has been spilled on it, a bag has rubbed against it, somebody has attacked a stiff fitting with the wrong tool, and what is left looks tired even when it still works. If your Daytona 675 is going to be a track bike anyway, replacing that part rather than restoring it is a reasonable decision. Look at the old one carefully before it comes off, keep it if it is sound, and remember that the machine has to be cold and standing still before you start work of any kind near the tank.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists the Daytona 675 from 2006 to 2018 for the FC101, and that is the coverage of this product. In our range the same cap is also catalogued for the MV Agusta F3 675, the Aprilia RS 660 and the KTM 690 Duke R. Please compare your machine with the application list before you order.
Road Approval
Neither a German ABE nor a parts certificate is documented for the FC101, so it goes out as a part for closed circuits. On the road the Daytona keeps its original cap, which normally opens with the ignition key.
Scope of Delivery
