Sprint Filter P08 Air Filter for Road & Track – Honda FS150 (2016–2026) PM183S

Everything on the intake side of a 150 cm³ single is small, and the air filter is no exception. The airbox sits where the frame and the bodywork leave room for it, and the element inside is a fraction of the size of anything on a large machine. That is the whole of the difficulty, because dust does not arrive in proportion to displacement: a season's worth of it spread across a small element sits far more densely than the same dust would on a big one, which is why small filters reach the end of their useful life sooner than their owners expect. The Sprint Filter P08 answers that with geometry rather than with a claim, carrying roughly double the filtering surface of other performance filters in the same space.

Why surface area is the scarce quantity here

Loading is a question of density rather than of total dirt. Twice the area holds the same season's dust at half the concentration, so the pressure drop across the element climbs more slowly. On a small machine that matters more than it would elsewhere, because the airbox volume is fixed by the frame and there is no room for a physically larger filter: the area has to come from how the medium is arranged, not from making the part bigger. A single woven layer helps: it does not need to be thick to do its work, so almost all of the space it occupies is working surface.

Cleaned back to where it started

The second half of the argument is that the area is recoverable. Compressed air from the clean side lifts trapped dust off a woven polyester surface and returns the element close to the condition it left the factory in. Paper cannot offer that at any price: it closes up progressively and the only remedy is a new one. Sprint Filter designs the P08 to last the life of the motorcycle, so the same element goes back in year after year. What it will not do is make a standard 150 measurably faster, because the standard filter was never the thing limiting this engine.

Care and cleaning

Blow PM183S through from the clean side outwards with compressed air; that is the routine service. When a hard season has earned it, wash in lukewarm water with a little mild detergent, rinse until the water runs clear and let it dry completely in open air, never with heat and never near a flame.
