DescriptionThe whole story▼
Autumn tours through the Dolomites, a cold ride home after dark, a sudden shower on a motorway: an MT-10 SP used as a genuine all-rounder sees all of these. Accossato's AGPA97ST is the front pad for the SP from 2017 to 2024 in the Sintered (ST) compound. The manufacturer designed it to keep grip high and even at every temperature and to cope well with water on the disc, which is exactly what a rider needs when the SP is expected to work in any season.
Key Features
- Front pads for the Yamaha MT-10 SP, 2017 to 2024
- Article AGPA97ST, Accossato's sintered material
- Grip described as high and even across the temperature range
- Wet discs handled well, according to Accossato
- For all-rounder use: tours, night rides, sudden showers
- Two pads a box; the SP needs two boxes for its twin front calipers
- Available on the same plate as OR, EV1, EV2 and ZXC
- No German ABE with us; sold for track and competition use
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato's sintered compound is its all-conditions material. The company says it provides a high and stable grip level whether cold or hot and grips well when the disc is wet. For an SP that tackles alpine passes and wet autumn roads, that predictability is the key quality. Like the rest of the range, it is intended to wear slowly and to fade less by limiting heat build-up.
An All-Rounder in Unsettled Weather
Mountain weather changes by the hour. An SP climbing a pass in the morning sun might face fog and drizzle on the far side, and the descent that follows asks the front brake for dozens of firm stops into hairpins on a damp surface. A sintered pad gives a lever feel that barely changes between the dry climb and the wet descent, which helps the rider stay relaxed. Night riding brings cold, and that is another situation where a pad that does not depend on heat is reassuring. Keep the discs free of oily road spray, check the pad thickness before a long trip, and change the fluid on schedule so it does not boil on a long descent.
Fitment and Compatibility
The MT-10 SP from 2017 up to 2024 takes the AGPA97 at the front and the AGPP88 at the back, according to Accossato. Since each front disc has its own caliper, two boxes are needed for the front; both sides should get new pads at the same time. Clean the pistons before retracting them, measure the discs and replace old fluid. Accossato does not list discs for the SP. Work the lever until it is firm before riding.
Road Approval
We hold no German ABE or approval paperwork for this sintered pad. For that reason the AGPA97ST is offered for circuit and competition use.
Scope of Delivery
Two Accossato AGPA97 pads in the Sintered (ST) compound in one box, the set for one front caliper of the MT-10 SP.
